           Shri Pranab Mukherjee Former President of India expired on 31st August 2020.  He was 84.

He was admitted in R&R Hospital, New Delhi. According to the Army’s Research and Referral Hospital, he suffered a septic shock due to his lung infection.  

A scholar par excellence, a towering statesman, he was admired across the political spectrum and by all sections of society."

He was a legendary political leader.

He served as an MP seven times. Before becoming the President of India in 2012, and an important minister in various Cabinets, as Finance, Defence and Foreign Minister during Congress Government

He was widely accepted and Respected leader among all sections.

This is an irreparable loss to the country.

We as Confederation and NFPE convey our heartfelt condolences to bereaved family members and pray for eternal peace to departed soul.

Former President Pranab Mukherjee passes away 

He was born in the year 1935 at Birbhum District  in West Bengal and was a School Teacher in Midnapore, Clerk in our P&T Department & lecturer in College. Thereafter directly involved in Politics and was 2nd in command in Congress Ministry from Smt Indira Gandhi to Dr Manmohan Singh Government.Latter on He was President of India and thereafter got Bharat Ratna Award.He passed away today ie 31.8.2020 at the age of 85 years.0ur Country lost a good Administrator, Great & Dynamic Personality.

 

 

The COVID-19 crisis and the postal sector

 The report presents an overview of the COVID-19 crisis in the postal sector from an economic perspective. It does so by complementing official postal statistics and a series of real-time indicators constructed from electronic data interchange (EDI) messages between postal operators and consolidated by the Universal Postal Union. The analysis reveals that the crisis has put pressure on international postal supply chains to an unprecedented degree. In particular, cross-border exchanges decreased by 21% between 23 January 2020 and 14 May 2020, compared to the same period the previous year. Delivery and customs clearance times have lengthened and some international postal bilateral liaisons have no longer been open for private dispatches. Given the criticality of postal services for the basic functioning of most economies, the report presents three near-future scenarios for the sector, in order to provide policymakers and postal operators with insights and suggestions on the way forward.
