Aadhaar Enrolment and Updation Facility Extended to Branch Post Offices

Extending Aadhaar Enrolment and Updation Facility to Branch Post Offices (BOS)

The Competent Authority has granted approval for the extension of Aadhaar enrolment and updation facility to Branch Post Offices (BOS). To initiate this process, it has been decided that 10 Branch Post Masters (BPMs) will be identified in each Circle who are willing to provide Aadhaar services from their BOS.

To facilitate this, idle/inactive Aadhaar Enrolment Kits (AEKS) available in the Circle will be relocated to the identified BOS. The appointed BPMs will serve as verifiers and operators for the Aadhaar services. A detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and incentive model will be shared soon.

In light of the above,

it is requested to identify at least 10 BOS in the Circle where the Aadhaar facility can be initiated.

The following criteria should be considered for the selection process:

  • Willingness of Branch Post Master/Assistant Branch Post Master to undertake Aadhaar-related work.
  • Availability of sufficient space within the BOS to set up the Aadhaar Enrolment Kits.
  • Availability of reliable electricity and high-speed internet and network connectivity at the BOS, to be provided by the BPM.
  • The BPM will be responsible for the safety and security of the AEKS.

By extending the Aadhaar enrolment and updation facility to Branch Post Offices, the aim is to enhance accessibility and convenience for individuals in availing Aadhaar services. The cooperation and commitment of the identified BPMs in providing this service are crucial for its successful implementation. Further guidelines and procedures will be communicated in due course.
