LTC relaxation to Jammu and Kashmir also extended by 2 years The government has issued an office memorandum, extending the relaxation for LTC travel to visit J & K under CCS (LTC) Rules. This will allow all central government employees to travel to Jammu & Kashmir by air irrespective of their eligibility, using either Air India or private airlines. But, they can travel only in 'Economy Class', irrespective of their entitlement.
The move expected as the government had extended the similar facility for central government employees to visit north-eastern states. This move will give a much needed boost to the tourism in J&K. The tourism in Kashmir has a huge potential and is under favorable condition owing to the continuing peace in the Valley. The 2011, which a very peaceful one, saw a record number of 1.3 million tourists and around 2 million is expected this year.About 80% of the tourists visits the state by Air.
