Extending the existing Productivity Linked Reward (PLR) Scheme for Port and Dock Employees for Payment of Productivity Linked Reward for the Years 2010-11 to 2012-13
The Union Cabinet today(14/09/2012) approved the proposal for extending the existing Productivity Linked Reward (PLR) Scheme for Port and Dock Employees for payment of Productivity Linked Reward for the years 2010-11 to 2012-13. The PLR scheme was last approved by the Cabinet in 2007 and it was in vogue till 2009-10. The existing scheme has now been extended till 2012-13.
The PLR scheme will benefit about 52,000 port and dock employees and the yearly outgo will be about Rs.44 crore. The expenditure on account of PLR payments shall be met by the major port trusts and dock labour boards from their own resources without any budgetary support from Government.
