Revision of PPOs of pre-2006 Pensioners and Family Pensioners for revising Pension as per 6CPC Orders:

After Implementation of 6th Pay Commission Recommendations with effect from 01.01.2006, Pension Payment Orders relate to Pre-2006 Pensioners and Family Pensioners required revision for two major reasons.
1. In respect of Pensioners who had attained more than 80 years of age 6CPC implementation provided for additional pension, for which age of the pensioners was required to be incorporated in the revised Pension Payment Order.
2. In respect of Pensioners who had retired or deceased prior to 2006, a minimum pension was guaranteed as per implementation of 6CPC. The revised basis pension in respect of these pensioners and family pensioners was required to fixed at the minimum of the Pay band equivalent to the pre-revised Pay scale in which the retired / deceased employee was drawing Pay. This revision in pension also required issue of revised pension payment order by CPAO.
This exercise did take a very long time. However, there are still considerable number of Pre-2006 Pensioners and Family Pensioners for whom PPO are yet to be revised.
