PIB Press Release on Dearness Allowance : Release of additional instalment of DA to CG Staff and DR to CG Pensioners, due from 1.1.2013 PIB Press Release on Dearness Allowance : Release of additional instalment of DA to CG Staff and DR to CG Pensioners, due from 1.1.2013 Press Information Bureau  Government of India Ministry of Finance  18-April-2013 20:45 IST Release of additional instalment of Dearness Allowance to central government employees and Dearness Relief to pensioners, due from 1.1.2013  The Union Cabinet today gave its approval to release an additional instalment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to central government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners with effect from 01.01.2013 at the rate of 8 percent over the existing rate of 72 percent.  Thus, the combined impact on the exchequer on account of both DA and DR would be of the order of Rs.8629.20 crore per annum and Rs. 10067.36 crore in the financial year 2013-14 (that is for a period of 14 months from January, 2013 to February, 2014).

UNION CABINET ON TUESDAY APPROVED A PROPOSAL TO HIKE AN ANOTHER ADDITIONAL DEARNESS ALLOWANCE BY 8% FOR CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES AND PENSIONERS... THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT TODAY APPROVED TO RELEASE A EIGHT PER CENT HIKE IN DEARNESS ALLOWANCE TO CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES AND PENSIONERS, THIS HIKE IS TO BE EFFECTIVE RETROSPECTIVELY FROM JANUARY 2013... THE DEARNESS ALLOWANCE AND DEARNESS RELIEF FOR CENTRAL GOVERNMENT SERVING EMPLOYEES AND PENSIONERS WILL INCREASE FROM 72% PER CENT OF BASIC EMOLUMENTS TO 80% PER CENT WITH EFFECT FROM 1.1.2013 TO COMPENSATE FOR PRICE RISE. No.17016/6/87-Estt.(Allow) dated 25th February, 1988, on the captioned subject and to revise the rates of honorarium with immediate effect as under: 1. MTS/Group ‘D’ officials when appointed to work as Despatch Rider/ Scooter Driver Rs.10/- per day. 2. MTS/Group ‘D’ officials/Despatch Rider/Scooter Driverwhen appointed to work as Staff Car Drivers Rs.20/- per day. 2. The amount of honorarium shall be subject to the ceiling as envisaged in FR 46(b) and instructions issued by this department from time to time. 3. In so far as persons working in the Indian Audit and Accounts Departments are concerned, these orders issue in consultation with Comptroller and Auditor General of India. sd/- (S. G.
