89(E) - DOP's Gazette notification dated 05th Feb 2019 the following change
have been made in IPO Recruitment rules.
1) Name of the Post Inspector of Posts & No of Posts 2210 (approximately)
2) Classification General Central Service Group B Non-gazetted ministerial,
3) Level in the {Pay Matrix Level 7) Rs. 44900 -1, 42,400)
4) Age limit for Direct Recruits. Not exceeding 30 years relaxable for SC/ST etc.

Educational and other qualifications required for direct recruits--
Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University or institute.
6) Period of probation 2 years
7) Method
of recruitment 33.34 % by direct recruitment through Staff Selection
Commission and 66.66% by promotion through Limited Departmental
Competitive Exam.
8) In case of recruitment by promotion- through LDC Exam officials of various grades. Minimum 8 years Departmental Service
